I grew up in a family of six, sometimes seven.
Military dad and cancer survivor mom, in good ol' Kentucky. I lived on prayers before dinner, second hand clothes and 'going outside' to play.
Meals were likely focused around convenience or quantity, but mom was quick to even it out with a mandatory date or spoonful of molasses.
How did any of

I learned to be resourceful, grateful and aware. As an adult, I value good quality food, environmental awareness, zero waste living, and intentional consumption.
